we stand in waiting expectancy for the coming age, present and on its way, established and yet to be furthered- we walk in the current reign of a loving God who heals, restores, renews, strengthens, forgives, resurrects, and serves- today, tomorrow and forevermore. for my friends needing hope- hope in the person of Christ, for my friends who need help- ask, seek and knock, for my friends who are hurting- he knows your pain, he hears your cries, he’s there in the midst of your tears- hold on.
“When God puts something on your heart, that means it’s on His heart, too. People spend so much time worrying about whether or not God wants them to do something when He specifically placed it on their heart to do it.”—Jon Pasquale (via nonelikejesus)
“What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined… to strengthen each other… to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories.”—George Eliot (via girlwithoutwings)
There are so many thoughts, stories and emotions that come with the 10th anniversary of 9-11. Tears for those who were lost, anger that people would do this, disbelief still that it happened. I still cry when looking at the photos of the Twin Towers, hear the names of those who died on 9-11 read and see their pictures.
It is also a day of hope. God was there on 9-11-01 and He’s with us now. There is nothing to fear with God in control. No matter what happens, God will win and that’s something to very grateful for. The terrorists have not and will not win; Satan has not and will not win. God has the whole world in His hands and nothing can change that.
“Love should be treated like a business deal, but every business deal has its own terms and its own currency. And in love, the currency is virtue. You love people not for what you do for them or what they do for you. You love them for the values, the virtues, which they have achieved in their own character.”—Ayn Rand (via @johannal)
“The Bible’s purpose is not so much to show you how to live a good life. The Bible’s purpose is to show you how God’s grace breaks into your life against your will and saves you from the sin and brokenness otherwise you would never be able to overcome… religion is ‘if you obey, then you will be accepted’. But the Gospel is, ‘if you are absolutely accepted, and sure you’re accepted, only then will you ever begin to obey’. Those are two utterly different things. Every page of the Bible shows the difference.”—Tim Keller (via dompascarella)
with fear comes a loss of control. and anger. and bitterness. and contempt. In that darkness it’s easy to get lost. but God said Do not be afraid; Fear not. Have no fear…. for I am with you. trust Him… trust His love for you. His perfect (complete) love. “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…”
